Angling for Free Food?

14/02/2012

Fancy going fishing in Soho? Well for the next few weeks you can.

As we’ve mentioned (just once or twice) our client Yoobi will be opening their first temakeria on Lexington Street in March. To raise awareness of the impending launch we’ve developed and designed an innovative game to help generate a buzz and reward some of the more curious locals.

Black fish, each bearing a unique QR code are stuck to the hoarding that currently surrounds the Yoobi site. Passers-by are encouraged to ‘go fishing' by scanning the QR codes with their smart phone.  If they make a successful catch they earn a voucher for a free temaki to be redeemed when Yoobi opens. Not-so lucky anglers get the message; “Unlucky, your fish got away”.

People can scan the codes as many times as they want; although the physical codes and the placement of the fish remains the same, here at ico we’re in control. We're able to change the messages that are generated by each of the codes, keeping everyone guessing. This means that an unlucky fish one day might prove to be a winner the next.

Get to Soho, get scanning and good luck.
