ico flap to freedom stall at the v&a village fete

ico were invited to host a stall at this year’s V&A Village Fete. The Fete is an industry institution that we were really proud to be part of. Our show-stopping Flap to Freedom chicken race game proved irresistible to fete-goers.

The V&A Village Fete is a contemporary take on the traditional English fete, providing an extraordinary array of creative, fun, engaging and imaginative events and games by leading as well as up-and-coming designers.

ico devised an interactive game based around the idea of racing ‘battery’ hens to freedom. Through the clever use of hidden technology, our custom-built robotic chickens were controlled by the frenzied movement of flapping participants. No one worked out how it was done but everyone had fun trying to be the fastest flapper.

The stall was so popular, ico have been asked to take it to the Borough Market Local Community Barbecue on 12th September, so you have another chance to join in the flapping fun.
