Science Museum : Centenary web pages
To help commemorate the Science Museum's centenary, ico has designed and built templates for an area on their website dedicated to the event. The centenary web pages encourage users to get involved in the celebrations.
Our Solution
As well as being an information hub for all the special centenary events, this 'microsite' hosts a series of interactive elements that provoke user participation. Centenary Icons is a feature that gives the public the chance to vote online for the iconic invention they think most changed the future. They're also able to nominate an invention or discovery that has changed their own life. Further user-content is generated in the Memories module where the users are prompted to add their personal memories of the Museum and what it means to them. The 'microsite' also acts as a window onto the Museum's plans for the future. With a vision to be the best place in the world for people to enjoy science, the Museum of the Future feature offers a glimpse at the exciting developments ahead.
