Vinspired : Voicebox Website
Voicebox is a unique initiative that gives 16-25s an opportunity to voice their true feelings on topical issues. Designed by ico, the website uses online data visualisation techniques to bring the statistics to life. An exciting part of the project is the Voicebot; a letter-writing robot, installed at the Houses of Parliament, that writes out the cares of young people for the attention of politicians.
Our Solution
The Voicebox concept is the vision of Sidekick, one of ico's long-standing creative partners. The tangible assets of the project were our responsibility; we created the name, the project identity and the interactive website including the data visualisation ideas.
Voicebox will examine what young people care about, how they spend their time, their values, their attitudes to community, and the truth about labels and stereotypes. Voicebox is an open data project and all the data collected will be made available for the public to use via a range of filtering tools and an API.
An exciting product of the Voicebox project is the Voicebot; a 'physical-digital' robot installed at the Houses of Parliament that collects virtual messages from young people and makes them real. An exhibition of the best 20,000 entries will be on display for politicians and policy makers to view. Each comment card that is created will be automatically photographed and uploaded to flickr.
